In March 2018, University College UCC and Metropolitan University College merged to become University College Copenhagen (KP).

University College Copenhagen offers bachelor’s degree programmes, academy profession degree programmes and postgraduate studies and conducts applied research and development activities in welfare-sector subjects such as pedagogy, health, rehabilitation, welfare technology, management, teaching and social work. It also educates nurses, physiotherapists, psychomotor therapists, sign language interpreters and textile and handicraft designers.

With awareness of the ever-changing dynamics of a globalised world, University College Copenhagen looks towards the international community to seek partnerships and cooperation for the exchange of knowledge and insight.

University College Copenhagen has campuses in Copenhagen, North Zealand, Aarhus and Bornholm. It organises numerous student, staff and teacher exchange programmes, both for study periods and work placements. As partner and holder of an ERASMUS University Charter under the European Union’s Lifelong Learning Programme, University College Copenhagen is committed to improving access to and transparency of education and training systems in Europe, in particular in promoting coherence between education and training and by improving flexible learning pathways between the different systems.
International, professional and academic networking is at the heart of KP’s endeavours to enhance the quality of the study programmes, professional development activities and research. Besides student and staff mobility, University College Copenhagen is engaged in research and development with a wide range of partnered international educational institutions.

Through research and development work, University College Copenhagen aims to continuously improve the knowledge base for the study programmes. The research projects are designed to improve the flow of knowledge between research, education and practice. They are deigned to generate knowledge that can be used in study programmes and to help academic teachers enhance their research and development skills. By sustaining the production of relevant knowledge and increasing academic faculty involvement in research and development, University College Copenhagen facilitates the development of study programmes with an even stronger knowledge base.
